As for Vista feedback, if you want to submit any bug you need to use MS Beta Client available for download at the MS Connect portal. At the same place, if you click on Community, there are instructions on how to setup your NNTP client in order to access private Vista newsgroups. Hope this helps.

This could be a Vista bug. If so, Microsoft, please pass this on to Vista people. This happens with up to date WLM and Vista Home Premium. It's a long-standing bug. Not a big deal, but it makes Microsoft look sloppy. If you're from MS and see this, please post a reply with advice on how to best report bugs.

Based on my research, this is indeed a bug of Windows Photo Gallery on Vista. As I know, there is no hotfix for it till now. May be the Vista sp1 will fix this bug. Have to now rely on web based remailers or direct posting through a disposable nntp provider. the solution is to dump vista and return to xp... or linux If your machien does what you want it to and you keep it bug free so it doesn't add tothe problems a lot of other people have, then be happy.

Although the configuration is entered correctly, Vista issues the fixed IP only on the first connect after a reboot. On the second connect it issues a private IP 169.254.xx, which it shouldn't. This is obviously a bug. (My workaround - because I did not want to reboot every day - was to enter a second static IP.

Hi Guys I've been having immediate server disconnections (TCPIP disconnect) when connecting to my ISP's news server with Vista (NNTP port 119). server and the same happens (they run Linux based servers). news.microsoft.com works however.
